Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs James K. Glassman will address the 2008  Breast Cancer Global Congress, on Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at  10:00 a.m.   Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Goli Ameri and Director of the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade Dr. Mark Hurlbert will open the event  that morning in the George C. Marshall Conference Center at the U.S. Department of State.

The Congress will bring together breast cancer clinicians and researchers, public health authorities, survivors and advocates to discuss the global challenges pertaining to breast cancer, awareness programs, and recent developments in screening and treatment.  Experts attending the Global Congress include approximately 40 International Visitors sponsored by ECA, (including DR. ELVIS AHMEDI FROM KOSOVO).  After the Congress these International Visitors will continue to explore breast cancer treatment and awareness through specially designed programs around the country.
